The Screenlight Media Fund LLC is a financing platform that provides independent filmmakers with the funds they need to bring their creative visions to light and investors with capital safeguards.
Fund Overview
Our mission is to build a financing platform that provides filmmakers with secured funding and investors with de-risked access to the global film and media market by combining structured credit discipline with equity upside. By securing the business side of film, the Screenlight Media Fund provides the resources that allow creatives to capture the “magic” and the investors with the security that is needed for financial success for all parties.
Most banks don’t service tax credits for films of $10M or less. Most senior lenders demand security guarantees such as a completion bond, which most filmmakers cannot afford. Most independent films, including Academy Award-winning films such as Jerry McGuire, and those with a budget of $3 million or less, just don’t get bonds, leaving some of the most valuable and commercially viable films without a resource to monetize their state and region tax credits.
Screenlight Media Fund provides independent filmmakers with the necessary capital and a quick turnaround for their projects on their secured assets (tax credits, union bonds, etc) by providing filmmakers with development & production services (financial plans, cost reports, audits) to secure the Fund’s and the investors' investments and investors with secured investments in a very desirable market.
